About Worth Spreading
Why this exists
We were tired of the gap between what is actually happening in culture and the people who need to act on it.
We have spent years inside brand teams, innovation labs, creative studios, and product development — building things that need to connect with real people. Consumer goods, campaigns, content, experiences. Every one of those projects starts with the same question: what is going on out there right now?
And every time, the answer was either a $30,000 subscription built for trend professionals, an overwhelming scroll through TikTok, or a twenty-three-year-old consultant explaining culture to a room of people twice their age.
None of those options are good enough.
What we built
A clear, structured map of culture — rigorous enough to base decisions on, and plain enough to use in a Monday morning meeting.
Six deep human forces we call Undercurrents. Nineteen named Macro Trends tracked through daily Signals — each one timestamped, classified, and ending with a specific So What for your work. And a strategic synthesis layer — Undercurrent Insights — that connects the dots most publications leave scattered.
This is not a trend list. It is a framework. Everything on the site is mapped to it, and the archive grows more valuable every week as the cultural record deepens.
The site is the product. The archive is the moat. And every week we publish, it gets more valuable.
How we work
Four principles behind every page on this site.
Practitioner-built
This framework was not designed in a research lab. It was built by people who have managed P&Ls, launched products, briefed agencies, and created cultural products — and needed a reliable view of where culture is heading to do it well.
Plain English
If your grandmother cannot understand it, we rewrite it. Complexity is not depth. Jargon is not insight. Every sentence on this site passes the clarity test before it goes live.
Always useful
Every signal ends with a So What — one specific thing you can do with this information. If we cannot write one, we do not publish. Interesting is not enough. Useful is the point.
Editorially rigorous
We do not publish hunches. Every trend is tracked through timestamped signals, reviewed quarterly, and classified against a consistent framework. When we say something is rising, fading, or returning — it is based on patterns in the evidence, not personal taste.
Who this is for
Anyone who makes things that need to connect with people — and does not have time to become a full-time trend researcher.
Brand & marketing teams
Positioning, messaging, campaigns. Know which cultural currents to ride and which ones are fading before your brief is written.
Product & innovation
New products, features, services. Spot the tensions people are feeling now — that is where the opportunities live.
Content & creative
Films, shows, music, editorial, social. Make work that resonates with where culture is right now — not where it was eighteen months ago.
Strategy & consulting
Client recommendations, market analysis, competitive context. A structured cultural lens that makes your advice sharper.
Founders & investors
Where to build, where to back. Cultural shifts create markets — and this site maps them before the business press names them.
The culturally curious
You do not need a job title. You just want to understand what is actually moving in the world — and why it matters.
Who we are
We have been the people in the room making decisions about what to build, what to say, and what to invest in next.
The team behind Worth Spreading brings experience across brand strategy, consumer goods, product innovation, content creation, and advertising — from global brands to independent ventures. We know how expensive it is to be wrong about where culture is heading, and how valuable it is to see the shift six months before everyone else names it.
That experience is why this site reads differently from most trend publications. We are not observers summarising from the outside. We are practitioners who have acted on insights like these — and built a framework based on what we actually needed when we were doing that work.
Independence
Worth Spreading is published from the Netherlands and operates as an independent publication. We are not funded by advertisers, not owned by an agency, and not trying to sell you consulting. Our editorial decisions are ours alone.
